TCHS is charged with a passion of offering high end technical training for students in Bonneville School District #93. August 28, 2018 $5.8 Million Supplemental Levy Renewal Vote

What is a supplemental levy?

A supplemental levy allows school districts to use property tax revenue for operating costs. When approved by voters, the levy provides supplemental funding for two years and must be renewed if the district is to continue to use those funds. Funding from D93's last supplemental levy is scheduled to expire at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. Renewing the levy will keep this funding in place through June of 2021.

How will the supplemental levy impact property taxes?

Property taxes will not increase or decrease based on the result of the supplemental levy election. Property taxes are determined by both the levy rate and the assessed property value. The supplemental levy will not change the total tax levy rate, which will remain at $5.79 per $1,000 of taxable value.

How many Idaho school districts have supplemental levies?

Today, more than 8 out of 10 school districts in Idaho have supplemental levies. D93 has worked hard to keep its levy as low as possible. The $5,800,000 levy is lower than the supplemental levy amounts of any similar sized district in the state.

How will funds from the supplemental levy be used?

The supplemental levy will continue to help bridge gaps in funding from the state. Key areas that are funded by the supplemental levy

•             Gifted and Talented program,

•             resources for college credit courses,

•             classroom technology and instructional resources,

•             maintenance of school grounds,

•             and provides competitive wages to help recruit and retain highly qualified teachers and staff
